Dumbarton attractions as picked by our local team!

As the weather turns warmer and the days longer, our thoughts turn towards outdoors leisurely pursuits. We have been asking our Dumbarton colleagues to pick there favourite local spots for going outdoors or being active, so whether you are new to Dumbarton or have been in the area for a while, check our recommendations and offer us yours too!

Hayley Dawson, Letting Assistant: “My favourite local spot is Levengrove Park. It’s just across the street from our office and I see a wee corner of it every day from my desk. I like it for the cycle path and beautiful walks to the water. It’s a lively place with many events happening throughout the year and the landscape colours are ever changing depending on the season.”

Gemma Young, Sales Manager: “My first pick is the Meadow Centre. I enjoy going for a swim occasionally. I can also recommend the two local cycle paths – Glasgow to Balloch via Dumbarton or the West Loch Lomond cycle path from Balloch to Tarbet – I like taking my dog Roxy out for long walks along the paths and we both enjoy the fresh air and the fantastic views of Loch Lomond and the River Clyde.”Sharon Anderson, Lettings Manager: “I can’t believe nobody chose this before me – my favourite Dumbarton spot is the best known local landmark – Dumbarton Castle. It makes for a great day out – with or without the kids and picturesque, Instagrammable photos that are recognizable worldwide. You start with a great workout by tackling the 500 steps that take you to the top of Dumbarton rock but the view from the top as well as the history of the place are well worthy of the effort.”

Scott Caldow, Senior Valuer: “I have lived for many years in Dumbarton and have enjoyed the local amenities, parks and leisure opportunities with my family. Dumbarton is so well connected as well, with fantastic touristic spots like Helensburgh and Loch Lomond only a throw stone away.”
